DYLAN FESTIVAL

The Dylan festival on scedule!
BOB!

Following an initiative from Terje Steinsrud and people from the Norwegian Dylanologisk Sælskab, "The Dylan Festival" 2009 is on schedule, as usual, at Beitostølen. The first weekend (4-6th) in September is so far the sixth successful Dylan festival held.

OPEN MICROPHONE at the Festival

As previously announced we will arrange for an "open mic evening" on the opening day at the Dylan Festival.

The organizers will try to recreate something of the atmosphere from the coffee houses in Greenwich Village from the early sixties. As all Dylan fans will know, Bob Dylan arrived in New York on the evening of 24 January 1961 and immediately set course for the Café Wha! where it was free for anyone to take to the stage. Dylan performed with some of his early protest songs and made an immediate impact as an artist with great songs and performance.

A rush of Dylan-interpreters are expected to Beitostølen, both happy amateurs, troubadours and professionals when the Dylan festival this year begins with a similar open-mic evening at Arnold's Pub. Several well-known singers and musicians have already registered their arrival.

More about this year's artists at the Program 2009 page.
